I vaguely remember catching bits of this on HBO as a kid, and time has not been kind to its mash-up of prehistoric silliness and sci-fi nonsense. Veteran schlock director Antonio Margheriti (aka Anthony M. Dawson) trains his camera on former football player Reb Brown, whose general blankness isn’t helped by the film’s dubbed cast of international nobodies and a cheesy theme song that makes Queen’s Flash Gordon music sound like Wagner. Despite it’s badness, though, I am curious to see the full 200-minute Italian TV miniseries from which this film was culled, if only to see if I could endure it. (Turner Classic Movies … seriously!)
