Internet of Things

Summary

The Internet of Things is a network of over 35 billion connected objects that generates a wealth of information that businesses may examine to make educated business choices about consumer behavior. IoT will reach 75 billion devices by 2025, and it is quickly expanding across all industries on a worldwide basis.

As a result, the IoT network is dense and extensive, spanning sectors and into the homes and lives of ordinary customers. As manufacturers of these devices, it is on us to maintain data security, integrity, and accessibility as it passes through the network.

To guarantee that data and processes are appropriately protected as IoT devices continue to advance into the corporate sector, businesses must establish a defined IoT framework to guide their efforts.

Objective

Cyber risk management throughout the internet and communications ecosystem are vital to our company’s capacity to develop in the Internet of Things. As such, Zeta Alpha will advocate for measures that enhance the digital ecosystem’s security and competitiveness. Private data protection must be included in global legislation in order to progress industrial standards with the fast expansion of IoT.

Although guidelines provided through regulation and standards set a minimum level, it must not become the operational standard for Zeta Alpha. Our object must always be confidentiality, integrity, and availability of privately-held information.

Device Procurement

When the company authorizes an IoT device, the Zeta Alpha IT team is responsible for selecting good platforms and procuring necessary equipment. Only managers have the power to request the usage of IoT devices and their procurement. Additionally, only organizational personnel from the Information Security Department of Zeta Alpha should obtain and install any equipment necessary for commercial operations.

These principles apply to the acquisition, use, and management of IoT devices, whether company-provided or employee-owned.
