Performance Task

Option 1: The British Perspective

If you choose this option, you are writing a letter to the Australian and New Zealand people, justifying why the forces stayed in Gallipoli as long as they did, siting evidence from the documents given.

Option 2: The ANZAC Perspective

If you choose this option, you are writing a letter to members of the British Parliament with your grievances on the Gallipoli Campaign, and what actions you believe the British should have taken.

FOR BOTH LETTERS

Your letter should be at least two pages, Times New Roman, 12pt font, double spaced, and should site at least five of the documents given. It should keep a respectful tone (British, you are appealing to people who have lost friends and family, ANZAC, you are appealing to those who make major decisions affecting your country) and work to use the evidence to convince the other of your point without attacking them personally.

Option 3: Poem for Two Voices

If you choose this option, you are going to write a poem for two voices concerning the Gallipoli Campaign. You may use the British Voice, the ANZAC Voice, or you own point of view as the different voices. If you do this, ensure that the poem is written so that each line is expressing a different idea from the two different perspective. Interact with at least four of the documents, and ensure that the poem is approximately a page and a half.
