The injury

Through out all my years doing athletics, I have never really had any injury that has been too much for me to overcome.  In high school I had a couple of little injuries like sprains and some aches, but nothing that ever really stopped me from competing.  I made it all the way through high school pretty healthy.  My first year at Baylor pretty successful as well. My sophomore year however, I had the best season of my life, but that came to an end when I injured my knee at the indoor national championships.

Nigerian Parties

Nigerian parties are not like your typical party where people go drink and act wild with your friends.  Nigerian parties are a little more formal to me.  Of course there is music and drinks, but Nigerian music is completely different than what people listen to in America.  One can simply do virtually anything when dancing to Nigerian music and it can look nice.  Nigerian dancing is basically an expression of the first dance moves that appears in your head in that split second.  It’s amazing!

First collegiate track meet

My first track meet that I competed in for Baylor was a wild one.  The pressure of this meet on a little old freshman like me was almost unbearable.  My being spectacle about everything, I had to make sure to get all my necessary accessories for when I competed.  I know it seems silly, but athletes all have their certain rituals and traditions they do before they compete so I had to have mine complete.

Graduation

Graduation did not only mark the end date of my school years in El Paso, it maked the beginning of my future.  I saw graduation as the key to the rest of my life.  I had always been eager to leave and embark on my own journey in the world and my graduation was that significant event that would get me there.

Bushes Tradition

One day when I was out with my cousin, she had taken me to Bushes Chicken.  I had been there once before, but I did not enjoy the place because theh did not have any barbecue sauce. But this trip would prove to be different.  She showed me their  seasoning called serendipity which ended up changing my life.  Now at Baylor, they have a student special every Sunday around dinner time, so I made it a tradition to go there for dinner every Sunday.

My College Visit

The first time I came to visit Baylor University, I was in shock of how nice it was.  My dad came on the visit with me and I knew that he loved the University as soon as he stepped foot on the campus.  So all that there was left, was to see how much I enjoyed the campus.  After the campus tour, and meeting the track family, I decided that Baylor would be the best place for me to spend the next 4 years of my life.
