Goals and Objectives

Goal 1: By the end of my capstone experience, I will be able to describe factors that enhance and impede the process of domestic violence and teen dating violence prevention education and promotion of healthy relationships with the various socio-ecological model levels. [CEPH CH Concentration Competency 2] 

  • Objective 1A: By the end of my capstone experience, I will have reviewed the literature concerning factors that impact the success of prevention programs and initiatives within a community, organization, and population. 
  • Objective 1B: By the end of my capstone experience, I will have written a document containing a list of potential prevention education, program, and initiative grants concerning domestic violence and teen dating violence and helpful information for the Director of Development to use when applying for the listed grants.  

Goal 2: By the end of my capstone experience, I will have designed a Prevention Department Plan for Family Abuse Center. [CEPH MPH Competency 9] 

  • Objective 2A: By the end of my capstone experience, I will have created a Prevention Department Plan, a deliverable I will give to my site mentor and the Family Abuse Center. 
  • Objective 2B: By the end of my capstone experience, I will have created a section within the Prevention Department Plan detailing the BSPH/MPH candidate duties, responsibilities, and how this position meets a need at Family Abuse Center. 
  • Objective 2C: By the end of my capstone experience, I will have presented my designed Prevention Department Plan to the Board of Directors of the Family Abuse Center at one of their Board Meetings. 

Goal 3: By the end of my capstone experience, I will have created goals and objectives within the Prevention Department Plan for Family Abuse Center concerning a prevention program and a BSPH/MPH position at Family Abuse Center. [CEPH CH Concentration Competency 5] 

  • Objective 3A: By the end of my capstone experience, I will have created goals and objectives within the Prevention Department Plan for Family Abuse Center that aligns with the 2021-2025 Strategic Plan goals. 
  • Objective 3B: By the end of my capstone experience, I will have created goals and objectives for the BSPH/MPH candidate within the Prevention Department Plan for Family Abuse Center. 

Goal 4: By the end of my capstone experience, I will be able to discuss means by which structural bias, social inequities, and racism undermine health and create challenges to achieving health equity for clients of the Family Abuse Center at organizational, community, and systemic levels through interviewing Family Abuse Center staff. [CEPH MPH Concentration Competency 6] 

  • Objective 4A: By the end of my capstone experience, I will have created a set of interview questions and interviewing procedures. 
  • Objective 4B: By the end of my capstone experience, I will have interviewed Family Abuse Center staff gathering responses concerning interview questions regarding any structural bias, social inequities, and racism witnessed or experienced during their employment at Family Abuse Center. 
  • Objective 4C: By the end of my capstone experience, I will have created a written analysis of the interviews completed. 

Goal 5: By the end of my capstone experience, I will have integrated various perspectives from other sectors and professionals to promote and advance the health of domestic violence victims and survivors receiving Family Abuse Center services. [CEPH MPH Competency 21] 

  • Objective 5A: By the end of my capstone experience, I will have collaborated with my site mentor and other employees at Family Abuse Center concerning the various aspects of my capstone experience. 
  • Objective 5B: By the end of my capstone experience, I will have received feedback from my site mentor and other employees at Family Abuse Center concerning the various aspects of my capstone experience. 
  • Objective 5C: By the end of my capstone experience, I will have presented to my site mentor and other employees at Family Abuse Center my capstone experience and the various deliverables at one of the Family Abuse Center staff meetings.
