Every Wednesday morning at 7:15 AM I met up with other American Medical Student Association (AMSA) members at the top of the East Village Parking Garage to carpool to the Pack of Hope’s warehouse. When we arrived, we picked a spot at the “assembly line” and filled plastic bags with the various food items lined up across a distance of four tables. Once we finished packing the number of bags necessary for the week (approximately 500 bags), we helped unpack donations placing them in the containers we just emptied in preparation for the following week.
