Future Implications

Although Social Credit scores are not set to be fully implemented in China until 2020, the current trials of the system currently being conducted in various Chinese cities, as well as the heightened media attention from shows likeĀ Black Mirror, has certainly peaked the interest of Americans. As Social Credit scores increase in regularity in China in order to determine citizen “trustworthiness”, one cannot help but wonder what the outcomes of the system could lead to- will their society flourish? How will Social Credit play a role in Chinese international relations? Could the United States eventually adopt this method of organizing citizens?
