Under the pseudonym Poor Richard, Benjamin Franklin wrote, “Haste makes waste.” This was an observation that hurried efforts may result in less than the laborer’s best work. Although work should be done in a timely manner, quality should not be sacrificed. When I first began my college experience, I frequently felt that I did not have time to complete all of my work. I resolved the issue by starting assignments earlier and mapping out a schedule for my school work.

The only thing that has had a greater influence on my life than my father, is my Faith. I believe that God has a plan for everyone, and that He brings us through our daily trials with mercy and compassion. Everyday I remember that "It is of the Lord's mercy that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not." As a part of my faith as a Christian, I am compelled to serve God. I am not perfect, but I try to honor Him in all that I do. Under the pseudonym Poor Richard, Benjamin Franklin wrote, "What is serving God? 'Tis doing good to man." I believe this wholeheartedly. Therefore, I make sure I dedicate time each year to some type of community service.
