Something is terribly wrong with our society when we cannot use the biggest stage to showcase such an accomplishment. I know what music meant to me as a child and as an adult. If it were not for the public school programs I would never have had a chance at playing the violin. Today, many school systems do not make these opportunities available, and with the growing income disparity, only a few families can make them available.
