The Troubles research worksheet

As a performance assessment, we will first complete a worksheet that will require you to do some research on the Troubles on their own. It asks questions that require more in-depth coverage than I gave in my background narrative.

Good Friday Agreement Synopsis

After you complete the Troubles worksheet, you will use the Good Friday Agreement synopsis above, the Internet, books, or articles to evaluate the success of the Good Friday Agreement. In either a paper or Power Point (or other multimedia–ask for approval) presentation, you will clearly state an opinion saying whether or not the Good Friday Agreement has helped keep peace in Northern Ireland or if it has failed to do so. You will back up your article with evidence and cite the sources from which the evidence came from. Remember, arguments are always stronger when you can acknowledge, and then refute, the other side.

The paper will need to be between 400-500 words.

The Power Point option will require a minimum of 12 slides. I encourage photographs to be used with text explaining the photograph’s purpose within your argument.  The argument for or against the success of the GFA must be clearly stated.
