Phillip Pat Sisk- Football 1955, Baseball 1956
Pat Sisk passed away on August 10, 2021. He was born May 26, 1937 to Cora and John Sisk. Pat grew up in Emory, Texas but moved to Longview Texas in high school where he excelled in athletics and earned a baseball scholarship to Baylor University. Pat’s Baylor experience started with him working in the athletics cafeteria where he met many members of the football team and eventually he became a member of the football team, too. Pat was a member of the Baylor University Sugar Bowl Champions of 1957. While attending Baylor, Pat signed with the Kansas City A’s to pursue his lifelong love of baseball.
Pat met the love of his life in Longview during high school. Pat and Suzanne were high school sweethearts and were married September 10, 1960. After baseball, Pat & Suzanne moved back to Longview where he was an insurance salesman but finally found his calling selling cars. Click here to read Pat’s full obituary.
Thomas “Buffalo” Brown- Football 1976-79
Thomas W. Brown was born July 8,1957 and passed away August 13, 2021. Thomas played defensive end for Coach Grant Teaff and the Baylor Bears from 1976-79, and he was a proud member of the 1979 Peach Bowl Championship team. After being drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 1980, he went on to play for three seasons in the NFL, playing one season for the Eagles (1980) and two seasons for the Cleveland Browns (1981 and 1983).
Thomas’ wife, Greta, passed away last year from her own health-related issues. Thomas and Greta had one child together, their daughter, Taylor Brown, who was by her dad’s side when he passed. The Browns resided in Waco. To see Thomas’ obituary, click here.
Paul Kluge- Football 1971
Paul Kluge passed away in August after a long and brave battle with cancer. He was 68 years old. Paul grew up in Waco and attended University High School. He entered Baylor in the fall of 1971 and played nose guard for the Bears under head coach Bill Beall. After earning his degree, he went on to become a teacher, coach, and ultimately a business owner.
Paul was a longtime supporter of the “B” Association, Bear Foundation, and Baylor Athletics, and was an ardent supporter of Kim Mulkey and the Lady Bears of women’s basketball. Many may remember Paul from the annual Big Cat’s Fishing trips (2008-2018). He participated in the fishing excursions each year, and played a key role in securing the spacious Captain John, a 75’ catamaran-style boat used on each of those trips. Paul leaves behind his loving wife, Karrie Kluge. Please remember her in your prayers.
