What a great day to be a Baylor Bear! Several years ago, I heard a story about the legendary basketball coach John Wooden who insisted that his players always acknowledge the help and “team” attitude they received from other team members. For example, Coach Wooden said, “If you receive a pass from a teammate and you score the basket, as you are running up court to play defense, remember to acknowledge the assist by pointing, winking, or nodding at the guy who passed you the ball.” One of the players asked, “But Coach, what if he’s not looking?” “Don’t worry, son, he’ll be looking,” Wooden replied. It was a poignant teachable moment. Coach Wooden’s words are dead on… “Thank you” are two words that are always welcomed.
That said, let me take this moment to thank each of you for your loyal backing of the “B” Association. In no small way, your dedicated support has not only sustained us, but also it has allowed us to become one of the strongest and most active letterwinner associations in the nation. You should be proud of that achievement.
While we delight in our success, we also know there is still much more work to be done to be the best. If you are not an active member of the “B” Association, I invite you to join today and become a dues-paying member. Get involved and learn more about our unique member benefits, the exciting letterwinner events we host each year, and our worthy programs established to assist the student-athletes and all Baylor sports.
