“B” Association to Honor Former Quarterback Nick Florence

 The “B” Association and Baylor Athletics will recognize former Baylor quarterback, Nick Florence, as a 2023 Baylor Football Legend at the Baylor vs. Iowa State  Homecoming game this Saturday, October 28th, at McLane Stadium. 

A native of Garland, Texas, Florence began his record-breaking career as a true   freshman setting the school’s single-game passing record with 427 yards in 2009.   Florence set or tied 8 school records during his tenure at Baylor, and he finished his   career ranked second only to RG3 on 7 school passing records including, Passing   Yards, Touchdowns, Total Offense, and Passing Efficiency. 

A team leader, he gave up his redshirt year in the 11th game of the 2011 season to replace injured All-American and Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III.  In that game, Florence led the Bears to a thrilling victory over Texas Tech.

He earned honorable mention All-America and All-Big 12 honors due to his outstanding performances in his senior season.  In 2012, he was named first-team Academic All-America, Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year, 2012 NFF Scholar-Athlete, and he was a finalist for the Campbell Trophy.  Florence was a three-time Baylor Dean’s List honoree and an eight-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll selection.
