“B” Association to Honor Former Quarterback Seth Russell

The “B” Association and Baylor Athletics will recognize former Baylor quarterback, Seth Russell, as a 2022 Baylor Football Legend at the Baylor vs Oklahoma State game on October 1st at McLane Stadium.

Seth Russell was a 4-year varsity letterwinner and QB for the Bears from 2013-2016. Despite suffering season-ending injuries in both his junior (neck) and senior (ankle) seasons, he appeared in 31 games with 17 starts. He posted a 14-3 record as a starter, throwing 54 TD passes and only 14 interceptions in those games. He earned All-Big 12 (honorable mention) honors following the 2015 season, and he was named “Strongest Arm” in the Big 12 Conference by Lindy’s Sports.

Russell owns or shares seven school passing records, including the Single-Game TD Passes record (6). He is Baylor’s career leader in Total Offense Yards Per Play (8.324) and is also ranked 2nd in Pass Efficiency (159.36), 3rd in Passing TDs (60), and 7th in Total Passing Yards (5,461). He is one of only three QBs in Baylor Football history to throw for 50+ career touchdowns.

Russell was the recipient of the Bobby Jones Award in 2017, presented by the “B” Association to the outstanding senior football player for leadership, sportsmanship and team play during practice for, and performance in, the previous years’ Homecoming game.

Currently, Russell works as a Financial Representative for Northwestern Mutual, but on game days at McLane Stadium, he can be heard on the Baylor Football Tailgate Show presented by Baylor Alumni.  Russell and former teammate, Elliot Coffey, are special guests on the show, alongside hosts Brooke Bednarz, John Morris, and Derek Smith, as they break down the day’s matchup. The show is streamed live online and airs on ESPN 1660 two hours prior to kickoff.

Please join us this Saturday in giving a warm Baylor welcome to 2022 Football Legend, Seth Russell!
