“B” Association to Honor Former Linebacker Eddie Lackey

The “B” Association and Baylor Athletics will recognize former Baylor linebacker, Eddie Lackey, as a 2021 Baylor Football Legend at the Baylor vs Texas Tech game on November 27th at McLane Stadium. 

A two-year letterwinner for the Bears from 2012-2013, Lackey went on to become a two-time All-Big 12 linebacker, after transferring to Baylor from Riverside Community College. Lackey started all 26 games both his junior and senior seasons as outside linebacker and MLB, totaling 212 tackles, 6.5 sacks for 61 yards, 13 QB hurries, seven interceptions, three PBUs, two forced fumbles and two fumbles recovered.  At the time of his departure, he was ranked 5th all-time in Yards-Per-Interception-Return (23.43) and 8th in career Total Interception Return Yards with 164 yds on seven picks.

He was a key member on Baylor Football teams that earned back-to-back bowl game invitations, including the 2013 squad that won the Big 12 championship and qualified for school’s first BCS bowl game. Lackey also excelled in the classroom by being twice named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll. He is also a member of Baylor Football’s All-Decade Team of the 2010’s.

Lackey currently serves as a Managing Partner for Massage Heights in Abilene. He and his wife, Cassidy, reside in Abilene with their two children.
