Irwin “Bo” Price- Track & Field 2003-06
Dr. Irwin Boger “Bo” Price IV, 36, of Atlanta, Texas was born on June 9, 1984 in Atlanta to Irwin Boger “Bogie” III & Janet Price. He passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021, in Atlanta, Texas.
In his all-too-short life, Bo made many good friends, distinguished himself in his profession, traveled widely, and touched many lives. Although there was more he hoped to do, he accomplished much in his very full life. If one word could describe Bo, it would be dedicated. Dedicated in faith, family, friends, and profession.
Bo attended Atlanta High School, where he earned numerous accolades in both academics and athletics. He was a Top Ten Scholar and a decorated athlete, running cross country and track. After high school, Bo attended Baylor University receiving a degree in Medical Humanities. While at Baylor, he was a cross country first team All-Big 12 Conference runner and an Academic All-American. Click here to read the full obituary.
Jacke Davis- Baseball 1956-57

He was a retired baseball coach from Carthage High School and Athletic Director/Coach for Panola College. He also played professional ball for the Philadelphia Phillies.
He was honored with numerous awards and recognition throughout his career, from 8 times being named Coach of the Year to Panola College and Carthage High School Hall of Fame. But if you asked him, he would say his major accomplishment as a coach was being a friend to aspiring players including 38 drafted into the majors and 118 players signing with universities. Betty R. Bryant, 83, of Waco, passed away on June 8, 2021, surrounded by her husband and sons after a long-term illness.
Betty was born June 19, 1937, in Del Rio, Texas, to Rufus Hayden Rogers and Grace Conn. She graduated from Waco High School in 1955. After graduation, she attended Baylor University where she participated in BRH Choir and was one of the first members of the Baylor Women’s Tennis Team. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Teacher Education and History.
Betty was a wife, mother, homemaker, church leader, community organizer, and all-around servant to those in her community. A resident of Commerce, Texas, for over 40 years, she was well-known and never met a stranger. She was always willing to serve on church and community committees organizing citywide events, raising money for the Chamber of Commerce, helping with church productions, organizing the veteran’s day vigil, and even working with the youth group at FBC Commerce even after her kids were grown. She was an avid tennis player until almost 80 years old! She loved all sports and was known to get quite vocal when her Bears or her Cowboys were playing. She served Baylor on the Bear Foundation faithfully raising money for them for many years and serving the Baylor Lady Bears basketball team as part of the Tip Off Club. She was also a loyal supporter of the “B” Association and will be dearly missed by our Letterwinner family. Click here to read the full obituary.
James K. “Chip” Hubbard- Baseball 1973
James K. “Chip” Hubbard (2/20/51 – 7/2/21) was born in Wills Point, Texas to Ken and Lou Hubbard, and siblings Tim and Kathi completed their family. Due to Ken’s job with Montgomery Ward, the family moved often, living in 9 cities across the country; but North Richland Hills, Texas and the friends there were always considered home to the Hubbard family. Chip followed family tradition and attended Baylor University, graduating in 1973. He was the manager on the Baylor baseball team and was forever attached to the Baylor Letterwinners. The highlight of his 4 years at Baylor was meeting Paula, and in 1975 they married and moved to Houston. Intending to stay for only a couple of years, they instead made peace with the heat, humidity and traffic and made their lives here for 46 years. Chip worked in commercial real estate for most of his life and in 1987 started his own commercial real estate brokerage company. The Hubbards found a family in Houston when they joined South Main Baptist Church in 1975 and most especially, the Shirl Class. The relationships formed continue to be very special and the shared experiences over so many years have become legendary. He taught 4-year old Sunday School at South Main for 15 years, and poured his heart into each week’s activities. Even more than his work and South Main, Chip was most proud of his two sons, Matthew and Nathan. They were the light of his life and he was always ready to bend your ear with their latest adventures. He instilled in them a love for so many things – the ocean, baseball, and the Parrothead fraternity – just to name a few. Their decisions to go to West Point opened a whole new area of service for Chip, and he worked on the Admissions Field Force for West Point in Houston for many years.
Chip was preceded in death by his father, Ken Hubbard, his brother, Tim Hubbard, and his niece, Lindsey Hubbard. He is survived by his wife, Paula, his sons, Matthew and Nathan; his mother, Louise Yates; his sister, Kathi Long and her husband, Rick; his nieces Heather Penry and her husband, Brian; Mauri Harrison and her husband, Brad; and Nikki Herring and her husband, Hunter, as well as his great-nieces and nephews, Bricen and Brock Penry, Gauge Harrison and Hallie Kate and Hensley Herring, and his cousin, Betty Ashton.
