Greetings Baylor Letterwinners,
I hope you and your family are safe and healthy. The COVID-19 pandemic has left all of us uncertain about the upcoming 2020 football season. However, I remain optimistic that not only will we play football this season, but also that our country’s medical experts will figure out a way for us to reduce the growing number of infection cases popping up all over the country and find a vaccine to help rid the world of this horrible virus. I am optimistic because our doctors, nurses, scientists, and other talented professionals are the smartest, best trained healthcare professionals in the world. Please continue to pray for them and all who have been impacted by this devastating disease. With God’s help, we can beat COVID-19.
In the meantime, we plan to hit the ground running whenever we are cleared to return to our offices. We appreciate those of you who have already sent in your dues for this 2020-2021 school year. Your dues are the lifeblood of our association. Dues help fund important letterwinner recognition initiatives like the Legends Program, Baylor Athletic Hall of Fame and Wall of Honor Induction Ceremony and Banquet, Sports Reunions, Football Game Day Meals, and the newly established Sport Ambassador program. Additionally, your dues provide valued support to the “B” Association’s Endowed Scholarship Program that assists current student-athletes who have finished their sport eligibility, but who do need financial assistance to complete their degrees. For those of you who have not yet paid your dues this year, please know that your financial support is needed now more than ever. We realize these are difficult times, but if you are able, please continue to lend your support. Thank you.
Finally, if you have not already heard the good news, “B” Association staff member Lauren Sanderson and her husband Hank are expecting their first child in September, so she will be out on maternity leave for most of the fall semester. Please join us in congratulating Lauren and Hank as they embark on the wonderful journey into parenthood.
