“B” Association to Honor Former Linebacker Kevin Hancock

The “B” Association and Baylor Athletics will recognize former linebacker, Kevin Hancock, as a 2019 Baylor Football Legend at the Baylor vs. UTSA game on Saturday, September 7.

Known as one of the most fierce and intense defensive players in SWC football history, Hancock was a gifted two-sport letterwinner for the Bears excelling in both football and track & field from 1981-84.

Following in the footsteps of his father, John Hancock, who was an All-Southwest Conference guard on Baylor’s historic 1951 Orange Bowl team, Kevin also earned All-Southwest Conference honors after leading the Bears in tackles with 110 and 3 interceptions in 1984. Prior to his senior season, Hancock was selected Captain by his teammates and he received the coveted team MVP honors following the season.

In the spring of 1985, the Detroit Lions selected Hancock in the 4th round of the NFL Draft. He spent one season in the league, before concluding his football career with the Indianapolis Colts.

Hancock is currently self-employed and works in the Oilfield Equipment Sales business in Missouri City, Texas. He is also the younger brother of famed Hollywood film director, John Lee Hancock.

Join us this Saturday in giving a warm Baylor welcome to 2019 Baylor Football Legend, Kevin Hancock!
