Xavien Howard (Football 2013-15) signed a five-year, $76.5 million contract extension with the Miami Dolphins, making Howard the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL. Howard was drafted to Miami in the second round (38th overall) in 2016 and had an outstanding 2018 season.

Jhasmin Player (Basketball 2006-09) was named an assistant women’s basketball coach for the Kansas Jayhawks. Player spent the 2018-19 season with Loyola Marymount in California where she helped the Lions return to postseason play for the first time since 2001. Prior to LMU, Player spent two years with the women’s basketball team at Maine and five years playing professional basketball in Europe.

Lauren O’Connell (Soccer 2014-17) competed and placed 5th overall on Season 38 of “Survivor: Edge of Extinction” that aired this spring. O’Connell made it to the finale despite dealing with a significant weight loss and fainting during one challenge. In an interview with the Baylor Lariat, O’Connell said, “I had that Baylor soccer mentality of ‘I’m going out there and I am going to do whatever I can to win.'”
