“B” Association to Honor Former Offensive Lineman “Big Mike” Johnson

The “B” Association and Baylor Athletics will recognize former offensive lineman, Michael Johnson, as a 2018 Baylor Football Legend at the Baylor vs. Kansas State game on Saturday, October 6.

Affectionately known by his teammates and friends as “Big Mike,” Johnson was a four-year starter for the Bears from 1994-1997 and a two-time All Big 12 Conference offensive lineman. The Chicago, Illinois, native was voted MVP and team captain his junior and senior seasons, and he is a member of the Baylor Football’s All Decade team for the 1990s.  A two-sport letterwinner, Johnson threw the shot put for the Baylor Men’s Track and Field team where he played a key role in the team winning the Southwest Conference title in 1996.

After earning his BA degree in Communications in 1999, Johnson entered the insurance industry, and currently owns and operates two State Farm Offices in Frisco and McKinney, Texas. He remains involved with Baylor as an Executive Member of the Baylor “B” Association’s Board of Directors. Joining Johnson on the field today are his girlfriend Tracie, daughter Taylor, and sons Josh and Jace.
