“B” Association to Honor Former Defensive Lineman Joe Johnson

The “B” Association and Baylor Athletics will recognize former defensive lineman, Joe Johnson, as a 2018 Baylor Football Legend at the Baylor vs. Duke game on Saturday, September 15.

A native of Bryan, Texas, Johnson earned three varsity letters for the Bears from 1972 to 1974.  Following his first varsity season at Baylor, he was selected to the SWC All Newcomers team and he received UPI third team All-Conference honors. In 1973, Johnson was named to Texas Football Magazine’s King’s Row first team. He was named team Co-Captain and Outstanding Defensive Lineman his junior season and again his senior year when he led the Bears to the 1974 Southwest Conference championship and the ’75 Cotton Bowl.

Johnson is a Bobby Jones Memorial Award recipient and a member of Baylor Football’s All-Decade team of the 1970s.
