2017 Men’s Basketball Alumni Day
Saturday, February 4 – BU vs. Kansas State
The “B” Association and Baylor Athletics have invited all former men’s basketball players to attend the 2017 Men’s Basketball Alumni Day and to cheer on Coach Scott Drew as the Bears take on the Kansas State Wildcats on Saturday, February 4. Former players from the 1940s through the 2000s will be back at the Ferrell Center as we show our appreciation for their hard work, sacrifices, and contributions to Baylor Basketball.
Be there on Saturday to support Coach Drew, the #2-ranked Baylor Bears, and basketball alumni!
Bill DeWitt Selected as Baylor Basketball Legend
Saturday, February 11 – BU vs. TCU
The “B” Association and Baylor Athletics will recognize former guard, Bill DeWitt, as a Baylor Basketball Legend at the Baylor vs. TCU game on Saturday, February 11.
After serving in the Navy in World War II, DeWitt attended Baylor on the GI Bill where basketball coach, “Mr. Bill” Henderson, stopped him on campus to ask if he played basketball. DeWitt would go on to become a starter and ultimately captain the great teams that would play Kentucky in the national championship game in 1948 and go to the semifinals in 1950.

1967 Baylor Basketball Cub’s Team Selected as Legend Team
Saturday, February 11 – BU vs. TCU
The “B” Association and Baylor Athletics will recognize the 1967 Men’s Freshman Basketball team at the Baylor vs. TCU game on Saturday, February 11.
Fifty years ago, this freshmen team consisting of three scholarship players, seven walk-ons, and two coaches, went on to become the most accomplished freshmen team in Baylor basketball history. Team members Tommy Bowman and Larry Gatewood were ultimately inducted into the Baylor Athletic Hall of Fame, along with freshman team coach Carroll Dawson and varsity Head Coach Bill Menefee.
Join us on February 11 as we recognize these men for their outstanding contributions to Baylor Men’s Basketball.
