The “B” Association will recognize Baylor former All-American punter, Daniel Sepulveda, as a Football Legend during the Baylor vs. Texas football game on Saturday, December 5, 2015.
A four-year letterwinner for the Bears from 2003-2006, Sepulveda began his career as a walk-on linebacker in 2002, but transitioned to punter the following year and went on to become the first-ever two-time Ray Guy Award winner and only the second three-time All-American in Baylor Football history.
He led the nation with a school-record 46.5 yard putting average in 2006 when he earned unanimous consensus All-American recognition and captured his second Ray Guy Award. Sepulveda recorded 94 career punts of 50-plus yards, setting an NCAA record, and averaged an NCAA-best 45.24 yards per career kick. He is a two-time first-team Academic All-American selection, and a member of Baylor Football’s All-Decade team of the 2000’s.
In 2007, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected Sepulveda in the 4th round of the NFL draft. During his career in Pittsburgh, he helped lead the team to two Super Bowls, including the 2009 World Championship victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl 43.
Sepulveda currently resides in the Pittsburgh area with his wife Rachel.
