We hope you will join us at the game on Saturday as the “B” Association recognizes former All-Conference safety, Maurice Lane, as a 2015 Football Legend.
A native of Killeen, Texas, Lane earned three varsity letters in football for the Bears from 2002 to 2005. He was a three-time All-Big 12 selection, garnering first-team All-Big 12 honors from the San Antonio Express-News, second-team all-league honors from the Associated Press, as well as, honorable mention status from the Big 12 coaches. In 2005, Lane was named to the preseason watch list for the Jim Thorpe Award, presented annually to the nation’s best college defensive back.
He currently ranks 4th in Career Total Tackles at Baylor and 3rd All-time in Season Tackles. He led the Bears in total tackles for three consecutive seasons and he joins College and Pro Hall of Famer Mike Singletary as the only Bears to record 300 or more career solo tackles.
Lane currently resides in Miami, Florida where he works as a teacher and personal trainer. He also serves our nation in the U.S. Army Reserves.
