At the Baylor vs. Iowa State football game on Saturday, the Baylor “B” Association will recognize former Baylor wide receiver and 4-year letterwinner, Levi Norwood, as the recipient of the 2015 Bobby Jones Memorial Award. The award is presented to an outstanding senior player for Leadership, Sportsmanship and Team Play during practice for and performance in a Homecoming football game. The Baylor football coaches select the recipient of this annual award.
In last year’s 60-14 Homecoming victory over the Kansas Jayhawks, Norwood hauled in 3 receptions for 34 yards and one touchdown as the Bears rolled up a whopping 669 yards of total offense.
As a senior, Norwood was also among the nation’s top receivers earning spots on the Biletnikoff Award and the Paul Hornung Award Watch Lists. He also earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention as a Kick Returner, and he was selected to the Academic All-Big 12 second team. Off the field, he was a finalist for Uplifting Athletes’ Rare Disease Champion Award.
Presenting the 2015 Bobby Jones Memorial Award to Norwood on Saturday will be the son of the late Bobby Jones, Mark Jones, and granddaughters, Elizabeth and Katherine. We hope you will join the “B” Association, the Baylor football coaches, and the Jones family in congratulating Levi Norwood on receiving this worthy recognition.
