“B” Association to Honor Former All-SWC Lineman Billy Glass Jr.

glass 1At the Baylor vs. Lamar game on Saturday, September 12, 2015, the Baylor “B” Association will recognize former All-Southwest lineman, Billy Glass, as a Football Legend.

Billy Glass Jr. was an Offensive Guard from 1977-1979.  He was selected consensus  1st team All-Southwest Conference for the Bears under legendary head coach Grant Teaff in 1979. That year, he led the 19th-ranked Bears to an 8-4 season record and a 24-18 upset victory over the 18th-ranked Clemson Tigers in the 1979 Peach Bowl.  He is also a member of Baylor Football’s All-Decade Team of the 1970’s, and he is son of former Baylor football All-American and renown prison minister, Bill Glass Sr.

Following his senior year, Glass was among several of the nation’s top players to receive an invitation to play in the Blue-Grey College All-Star Game.  In the spring of 1980, he was selected by Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round of the NFL draft.  Glass spent one season with the Bengals before retiring from football and embarking on a career in commercial real estate investment.

Billy is currently the president of Gentry Mills Capital, a commercial real estate firm located in Dallas.  He is married to Laura Glass and the couple has two sons. Billy has dedicated much of his life and resources to Special Olympics.
