Modernism: Victorian Legacies

The death of Queen Victoria and her son Edward marked the shift from the Victorian era into the modern world.  The World Wars collapsed civilization as it had previously been understood in Great Britain. Scars of war were prominently seen on the home front after the German air raids of World War II. The large decrease in population of men gave women the opportunity to earn a place in the workforce, and to begin to more forcibly question their proscribed gender-roles. The Modern time period was largely influenced by the ideas of Freud, Marx, and Einstein.

  1. At school my favourite Subject is Literatur. My major is German so I have learned a lot about German Literature and my favourite Period ist absolut The Romantic Period. It’s really me. Normally I usually buy books in Weltbild Gutschein for better price. Many choices and of course I saved here many too.
