Hobbies

new-york-yankees-logoThroughout the course of my life, I’ve developed a few hobbies that I love to do.  First and foremost, I love to play baseball.  Ever since I was three years old, I’ve been playing, from tee ball all the way through high school, I played baseball for fifteen years.  Even to this day when I go back home over the summer and Christmas break, I get together with my high school baseball team to go hit at the batting cages and play catch. Also, I am able to watch baseball on T.V, something that bores most people to death.  When the New York Yankees, my favorite team, are on, I can watch games from start to finish.

Another hobby that I’ve developed is football.  Although I never played organized football until high school, I grew up playing pickup games in the street with my friends.  In high school, I played two years until I spent most of my second season on the sidelines due to a severe MCL sprain and a dislocated and broken finger.  I also love to watch football on T.V, especially my favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and have recently gotten involved with playing fantasy football with friends and family.  This year I’m playing in seven different leagues with various groups I’m involved with, friends, and family.

My final hobby is working on my car.  My junior year of high school, my parents bought me a car for a thousand dollars.  As is normally the case with cheap cars, m2000-ford-taurusy car had many issues. One of the first issues that I had was bad serpentine belt, although this was a hard fix, I was able to successfully replace it.  A few months later, one of the spark plugs started to go bad, reducing the power of the engine. Although this was another hard fix, I was successfully able to pull it off.  The final problem that I’ve had to fix myself was changing the cabin air filter.  By far the easiest of these repairs, the new cabin air filter kept dust out of the car, allowing me to drive it all the way from California to Waco.
