Baylor in Greece and Turkey

Hello friends,

This year in the study abroad program Baylor in Greece and Turkey, we will be offering a range of courses. Particularly of interest will be the BIC courses: Social World 1, Biblical Heritage, and Capstone (Pilgrimage and Martyrdom). There are also some Religion, Philosophy, and Great Texts courses for those who may need these credits. If you are interested, applications are now open and can be accessed at the link below.

Enclosed is a copy of the trip brochure and a list of all the courses that are being offered this year. We will travel down the western coast of Turkey starting in Istanbul, take a boat to the Greek island of Samos, fly to Athens, and tour across the Peloponnese. This is a world with a deep and rich history that was of strategic importance in the ancient world as well as our modern history. Many texts in the BIC and GTX curriculum come out of this world.  Most of Paul’s writings, Revelation, and some Gospels were written to address this first-century context of today’s Greece and Turkey.

The program fee will be $3,250.  That includes all lodging, breakfast and dinner each day, transportation within and between countries, entrance fees, Turkish visa, international health insurance for the duration of the trip, and private guides in each of our countries.  That does not include transatlantic airfare to Istanbul and from Athens, Baylor tuition, lunches, and personal expenses.

We will hold interest meetings on October 19 5:00-6:00 pm in Morrison Hall 100 and October 25, 5:00-6:00 pm in Morrison Hall 102.  But if you have questions, feel free to reach out to us any time.
