ARAGORN and tRNA

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Rationale: Understand the process of Aragorn and submit final notes on Genes 26 and 27.

Procedure:

  • Ran Elesar through Aragorn. Aragorn is an online application that finds any tRNAs in a genome.
  • Found Elesar to code for a single tRNA strand

(Aragorn’s formatting, set correctly)

(The single tRNA section from Elesar).

  • Next, used Phamerator to compare the lineage of Elesar and its genes.

(Elesar compared to Nandita, another Phage in the same family. Note that the gene numbers are different from those based on the auto-annotated genome. This is a result of reverse genes being removed. The base pair number is the same between DNA Master and Phamerator).

  • Added all current information to Phagenotes.
  • Checked genes 48 and 49 for peer revisions, and confirmed the accuracy of genes 26 and 27.
  • Saved version of annotation notes on genes 26 and 27 from phagenotes into DNA Master.
