Nine Baylor students were honored during the annual Student Literary Awards on March 29, 2023 –– one of the opening events of the 29th annual Beall Poetry Festival at the University.

The students were presented awards for their works of poetry and fiction. The 2023 winners include:

Undergraduate Poetry Awards

First Place: Kristen Nakamura –– Academy of Arts and Letters and the Virginia Beall Ball Prize

Second Place: Clara Garcia –– Poetry in the Arts, Dr. Robert G. Collmer Prize

Third Place: Susannah Bumstead — Poetry in the Arts, Dr. Jesse T. Airaudi Prize

Fourth Place: Made Harrell — House of Poetry Prize

First Place: Jonathan Diaz

Undergraduate Fiction Awards

First Place: Jourdyn Adams — Dorothy Scarborough Prize in Fiction
