Baylor geology graduate student Justin Von Bargen of Pleasant Plain, Ohio, has been honored for his research.
Von Bargen’s’s research presentation, titled “Charcoal Chemistry: Developing a Proxy for Paleofire Regimes,” won third place in the student contest at the recent 50th annual Soil Survey and Land Resources Workshop held at Texas A&M University in College Station. He was among 16 students from four Texas universities — Baylor, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Stephen F. Austin — who competed in the event.
