Poverty and it's Relationship to Crime

"Fighting Poverty, One Person at a Time"

The Issue

Poverty: the action of having little or none of the things you need to live. 27.4 % of the people in Waco fall under this definition. There is a proven correlation between high poverty areas and crime, especially such crime as thefts and burglaries. These crimes are caused by the desperation of the people living there, who are starving or need the money. By eliminating poverty we can eliminate these desperate crimes. Our Advocacy project is asking you to help these people through donations to charities like Mission Waco and nonprofits helping to educate the poor, which will allow them to get jobs that recognize their worth to our society and lift themselves out of poverty.
