Dr. Lesa Scholl, the Armstrong Browning Library’s Three-Month Research Fellow from the University of Adelaide in Australia, is offering a one-time workshop for undergraduates interested in issues of food insecurity, social justice, and British literature and history.

“To Eat, or What to Eat — Is THAT the Question?” will examine food restrictions and fasting in Britain in the 18th and 19th centuries through the lenses of religion, economics, and social justice movements. Participants will examine several different historical responses and compare them to ways that 21st-century society contends with similar issues of food insecurity and the narratives that contain our response.

The workshop will take place in the Armstrong Browning Library Seminar Room on Thursday, November 14, 2019, from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. If you are interested in participating, please email Molly Lewis at Molly_Lewis1@baylor.edu to register.
