About Me

Welcome. This site is a work in progress, so some areas will develop faster than others.

I have been a full-time Lecturer at Baylor since 2005, teaching courses in both the Classics Department and the Honors College. Before coming to Baylor, I held a one-year joint appointments at the University of California, Santa Barbara, both as Post-Graduate Instructor in Literature in the College of Creative Studies and as a part-time Lecturer in Classics.

I hold an M.A. and Ph.D. in Classics from the University of California, Santa Barbara (1994 and 2004, respectively). I took my B.A. at Hillsdale College (1992), graduating summa cum laude with a major in Classics and minors in Music and Philosophy/Religion.

My research focus is in Greek epic, religion, and mythology. I also have an active personal interest in Late Antiquity, Patristics, and Byzantine studies.

A present I also serve as the Chair of the SCS Committee on Contingent Faculty, Editor of the CAMWS Newsletter, and Chair of the CAMWS Manson A. Stewart Undergraduate Award Subcommittee.
