Sara Garza, a sophmore, working with Susan Bratton as mentor, presented a poster entitled “The impact of shining privet on the leaf morphology, chlorophyll and flowering of white trout lilly in Cameron Park, Waco TX” at Baylor University Scholar’s Day on April 24, 2008.  The project found that privet shading causes lengthening of petioles, a reduction in chlorophyll, and a reduction in flowering for this species of vernal herb.
