Session 2 Review and Prospectus for the Future

Posted on August 6th, 2012 in Uncategorized by jasontrumble

Last week, we spent a little over two hours playing with and learning all about the interactive whiteboards. I really enjoyed learning with you as we loaded and experienced a few of the fun files you found. I’m really excited because we are all becoming more familiar with the usability of the boards, and we are beginning to delve deeper into the power these boards can have as teaching and  learning tools.

We discussed some different ways of using the functionality of the interactive white boards in multiple environments like Power Point, Acrobat (.pdf), and internet applications (using the board as a mouse). We also learned how find tools imbedded  inside ActivInspire and Notebook, and import them for quick use on the IWB.  We are off and running and with a new semester approaching, we have a great foundation for using the IWB in our classes.

Our homework was to begin working on the creation of a new IWB activity that can be used in one of your classes. I am so excited about this step because our understanding of activity building in these environments will grow exponentially. I am available to help you with this step and would love to work with you to create a new, unique, tool for your classroom.

As you know, there is always more to learn. A goal of BUSOE Tech is to support your unique needs. Please let me know how I can support you. We would like to propose two additional sessions for IWB staff development. One session would be to introduce you to additional resources for your interactive white board, and a final session to share our creations with the learning community.

I’m excited to continue this journey of learning with you.
