The Council on Undergraduate Research has announced a call for submissions to appear in the fall 2016 edition of the CUR Quarterly. The issue will focus on integrating undergraduate research and creative scholarship into the curriculum. CUR is seeking four to five articles of 2,000 to 3,500 words as well as a number of shorter vignettes of around 300 words. Faculty in any discipline are invited to share their ideas on development, implementation, and assessment of initiatives that make research a part of undergraduate education.
According to the CUR announcement, potential topics of interest include:
- Models for integrating undergraduate research into the core curriculum/general education experience for students
- Curricular innovations that involve large numbers of students in undergraduate research experiences at any level of the curriculum
- Models for scaffolding undergraduate research experiences throughout the curriculum
- Innovative ways of integrating undergraduate research into the gateway, research methods, and capstone courses of a major
- Examples of undergraduate research programs that integrate lower-level classes with upper-division courses
If you are interested in submitting an article or vignette, submit a 300-500 word prospectus through the CUR website. The deadline for submission is Oct. 13. Accepted authors will be notified by Oct. 23 and final text for review and editing must be submitted by Dec. 14.
