The Council on Undergraduate Research has announced a call for submissions to appear in the summer 2014 edition of the CUR Quarterly. The issue will focus on capstone experiences and how they can help to facilitate undergraduate research. CUR is seeking four to five authors to write 2,000 to 3,500 word articles on incorporating undergraduate research into capstone experiences. They will also accept shorter vignettes of around 300 words offering creative suggestions with regard to any aspect of undergraduate research and capstone experiences.

According to the CUR announcement, potential topics of interest include:

• What types of undergraduate research experiences are facilitated by capstones?
• How do different models of capstones support undergraduate research learning goals?
• Are discipline-specific and open-curricular capstone models equally effective in supporting undergraduate research?
• What types of scaffolded curricular elements support undergraduate research focused capstones?
• How are undergraduate research experiences being assessed in capstones?

If you are interested in submitting an article or vignette, submit a 300-500 word prospectus through the CUR website. The deadline for submission is August 5, 2013. Accepted authors will be notified by Aug. 13, 2013 and final text for review and editing must be submitted by Sept. 30, 2013.
