Jeremy and I went to the see the cedars. One of the most beautiful places on earth!

I’ll upload some more pictures from this place when I find my technology

This mall is 3 stories underground! and 1 above

Logan, you should move to Lebanon because they named taxis after you and you’d always get a free ride

Aaron, you should move to Lebanon because Logan is moving to Lebanon

Pack your bags, Mensah, McDonald’s delivers.

And they still got their Double Quarter Pounders, apple pies, and this delicious strawberry custard pie.

And the McArabia (not a joke).

Lucas, you should move here because Aaron and Logan and Jonathan are moving here, and David’s already here:

Really, this place is awesome.  Lebanese people are very good at parallel parking.  God is still faithful.

Paul

have to make this post fast. Internet is gasping for life and you never know when the electricity is going to be shut off.

Lebanon is great.

Paul

“How precious is your lovingkindness, O God!

And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.

They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house;

And you give them to drink of the river of Your delights.

For with You is the fountain of life;

In Your light we see light.”

This place is crazy. God is faithful. Everybody should move here

I love the dynamics of interaction here. The cooperation among people is so evident in conversation and traffic conditions. They have a saying, “ماشي الحال,” literally, “life goes on.” The peace time mentality here is summed up in that phrase; if we’re alive, life is good. Life here is in the moment, even if the moment is 3am.  People are exciting and simple. We have so many emotions in America! They only have two emotions here in Lebanon: affectionate and civil war.

yalla, pictures:

part of our beautiful family!

This is us standing on a construction site for a new dock. Before they started building this dock, this place was a dump (literally), and the trash was piled 20 feet under water and 70 feet above water.

For all you PS2 fans out there, driving in Lebanon is like trying to get “near miss” points in Need for Speed Underground.

An example of the extreme contrast of Lebanon

I’m starting a new installment of my blog where I try to convince everybody to move to Lebanon

Cole, you should move to Lebanon because they have boba tea here! We found one of the only two boba tea places in Lebanon.

Me and Jeremy got Strawberry Banana Nutella Mocha flavor.

God bless you all and give you the courage to seek His face!

In case anybody was wondering, when the ladies in burkas talk on the phone, they put the phone on the outside of their veil.

I want to start by saying that everything I’ve heard about the driving in this place is true and unexaggerated.

Lebanon! We love this place. Stepping into the country for the first time in 10 years we felt a myriad of emotions… tired, exhausted, jet-lagged, etc. But we contained our enthusiasm.

It’s a beautiful country. Very, very, majestic in it’s own way. The city Beirut is so… aggressively alive. We took a little tour of the main street Hamra today. It’s so exciting! Everything is so bubbly, including the Bubble Tea shop we saw. It’s almost like being in downtown Dallas, if downtown Dallas were somehow combined with the sets for Jungle Book and Saving Private Ryan.

It’s very much a place of endearment and cooperation. Everybody is so welcoming, especially our family here. They’re awesome, and adorable, and patient with our Arabic, and fun, and love each other and the Lord so much. What an honor to be spending 4 weeks under their hospitality! Shout out to Lars.

We were talking with our cousin today how the Lord has been plucking out the Feghali’s (and Feghali relatives) out of the world one by one and redeeming them, and then putting them back into the world and introducing them to other redeemed Feghali’s/relatives for the joy of the family and the salvation of the WORLD! What a gracious redeemer! He has blessed our family with something special.

Me and Jeremy found a few bikes to ride around the airport in Frankfurt, Germany. As we were wondering why nobody else claimed the free bikes to spice up their flight-catching experience, airport security pulled up and asked for their bikes back.

“It says right here on the bike, ‘for security’”
“Sorry, we couldn’t read that, we’re Americans.”
“I know you’re Americans. Only Americans do this.”

Beautiful Lebanon!

Settlers of Catan. This is why we left America.

Anyways, blogging takes a lot of time. I see now why people write just one and then forfeit. These clever one-liners aren’t gonna write themselves! But Lebanon is awesome, the Lord is faithful, and I’m glad we’re here.
