Each volume contains an up-to-date general bibliography. The Baylor University Press Releases Collection features more than 33,000 news releases issued by the university between the 1920s and the 1990s. Covering topics as diverse as on-campus speakers; the results of sporting events, debate tournaments and beauty contests; the impact of world conflict on the campus community; and the hundreds of student-produced productions staged every year, the collection provides unequalled insight into the daily life of the university as reported by its own media communications professionals.

All items have been processed using OCR (optical character recognition) technology to allow for keyword searching. Please note that materials from the 1920s-1940s are often scanned from originals that were copies of copies, so highly accurate searches may be unavailable for those items. We are working to enhance the metadata for those items to ensure greater accessibility.

This resource was on trial and has been acquired by the Baylor University Libraries.

With support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the libraries of Purdue and Pennsylvania State University have collaborated to create Databib: an online, annotated bibliography of research data repositories. A number of academic and research libraries are taking an active role in data curation, applying library science principles to help address the data deluge. Librarians are helping researchers formulate funder-required data plans, adapting library practice to help organize and describe research datasets, developing data collections and data repositories, performing digital preservation, and teaching data literacy. Librarians are in a good position to provide these services; unfortunately, there is currently no framework in place to support the organization and discovery of data repositories. Many funding agencies are requiring their sponsored researchers to submit their data to repositories without giving further instructions to them. What repositories are appropriate for a researcher to submit his or her data? How do potential users find appropriate data repositories and discover datasets that meet their needs? How can librarians help patrons who are looking for data find and integrate datasets into their research, learning, or teaching? Databib has been created to help address these needs for librarians, data users, data producers, publishers, and funding agencies.

The Archives collections contain material that dates back to the Philharmonic’s first concert in 1842, but the first phase of our digitization begins in the middle of this long history. In deciding where to begin with our digitization project, we held a roundtable discussion that included librarians, historians, musicians, conductors, journalists, and students to evaluate the different time periods in the Philharmonic’s history and to determine what might provide the most unique source material. The International Era, 1943-1970 was selected for several reasons. It is the time when the United States becomes a world power and New York City its cultural capital; when the New York Philharmonic emerges as a worldwide symbol of this new cultural position. -Web Site
