PsycEXTRA

Produced by the American Psychological Association, PsycEXTRA is a bibliographic and full-text companion to the scholarly PsycINFO database. The document types included in PsycEXTRA consist of technical, annual and government reports, conference papers, newsletters, magazines, newspapers, consumer brochures and more. PsycEXTRA complements PsycINFO and the other APA databases with extensive coverage of gray literature relating to psychology and the behavioral sciences; it contains around 200,000 records that are not indexed in any other APA database. Furthermore, content from the Archives of the History of American Psychology (AHAP) collection is expected to increase the number of records substantially.

From 1935–1967, American theatergoers and television watchers were witness to Time Inc.’s unique and controversial film series, The March of Time®. Now, for the first time, this groundbreaking series is available in online streaming video in a single, cross-searchable collection designed specifically to meet the needs of researchers, teaching faculty, and students. The videos have been restored to their original luster by HBO Archives.

Like all Alexander Street online video collections, this resource include unique tools for teaching and research.

NBC Learn

NBC Learn, the education arm of NBC News, makes the global resources of NBC News and the historic film and video archive available to teachers, students, schools and universities. This website consists of NBC News Archives on demand for both K-12 and higher education. The Implementation Toolkit can provide tips on incorporating NBC Learn into the classroom. This trial has also been integrated into Baylor’s Blackboard system. Refer to this guide for information on using the NBC Learn Building Block.

Last year, EBSCO Publishing bought HW Wilson.  EBSCO is in the process of migrating all Wilson databases to the EBSCOhost platform.  The following Wilson databases acquired by the Baylor University Libraries have been moved to the EBSCOhost platform:

Web of Knowledge — Book Citation Index

The Book Citation Index has been added to our Web of Knowledge subscription for a trial period. To use this feature, click on the “Cited Reference Search” link and complete the search form. Just below the search form you will see “Citation Databases” with a “+” to the left. click on that plus to view the options that allow you to narrow your cited search to books or chapters in books.
