Provides a single search site for seven different and very useful full-text resources in literature covering biography and criticism of major authors and literary works from classical Greek and Roman literature to contemporary works; all languages and most countries are represented. Among the individual titles included are: Contemporary Authors (biographical information and lists of published works), Dictionary of Literary Biography (in- depth essays on an author’s life and influences, and his/ her works), Literature Criticism Online (excerpts from critical essays and reviews of major works from poetry, drama, prose, and short story, and children’s literature), the Scribner Writers Series and the Twayne’s Authors Series (which provide in-depth book-length studies of an author and her works), Something About the Author (information on children’s authors and illustrators), and other sources with briefer information. Search all titles at once or select individual title(s) via a checkbox. Simple keyword search or advanced search by author, specific work, and subject. Limits by document type (article, book, etc.), language of publication, and date.

Brill’s Companions in Classical Studies Online. II

Brill’s companions in classical studies II is a leading series of handbooks providing graduate-level synthesis of debate and the state of scholarship on key authors and subjects from Antiquity. Each volume contains an up-to- date general bibliography. Volumes published have covered authors such as Ovid, Herodotus, Cicero, Thucydides and Propertius, and thematic volumes on Flavian Rome, Greek and Roman Historiography in Late Antiquity, Greek and Latin Pastoral and Hellenistic Epigram. The database provides online access to the companions.

Oxford Scholarly Editions Online — Classics

Provides access to more than 690 scholarly editions of material written between 1485 and 1837, including editions of Roman Drama and History and historical works by Caesar, Livy, Tacitus, as well as plays by Seneca, Plautus, and Terence.. These editions contain over 73,000 different works including more than 500 plays, over 25,000 poems, and more than 47,000 other works.

The Baylor Libraries recently acquired additional backfiles for this resource, moving the years of indexed content to 1965 to present for the Science Citation Index and the Social Sciences Citation Index.  Previously, the indexed content was 1970 to present).

A digital version of  the only comprehensive record of dissertations accepted by U.S. universities during coverage dates. Includes those universities that did not send their dissertations to UMI.  Taken from the print index, Doctoral Dissertations Accepted by American Universities 1933-1955 and provides full page images of the original print index. May be searched by author, title, subject and university.  Beware that when Ebsco says PDF full text it is not full text of the dissertation but full text of the entry in Doctoral Dissertations Accepted by American Universities which is only a brief bibliographic record.
