Last year, EBSCO Publishing bought HW Wilson.  EBSCO is in the process of migrating all Wilson databases to the EBSCOhost platform.  The following Wilson databases acquired by the Baylor University Libraries have been moved to the EBSCOhost platform:

The remaining Wilson databases should be migrated to the EBSCOhost platform before the end of February 2012, and include the following resources acquired by the Baylor University Libraries:

  • Children’s Core Collection
  • Fiction Core Collection
  • Middle and Junior High Core Collection
  • Public Library Core Collection Nonfiction
  • Senior High Core Collection

Web of Knowledge — Book Citation Index

The Book Citation Index has been added to our Web of Knowledge subscription for a trial period. To use this feature, click on the “Cited Reference Search” link and complete the search form. Just below the search form you will see “Citation Databases” with a “+” to the left. click on that plus to view the options that allow you to narrow your cited search to books or chapters in books.

Access to Mideast and Islamic Resources

This project began as a consequence of a series of conversations in 2010 between Charles Jones and Peter Magierski at NYU about the need for a tool to assemble and distribute information on open access material relating to the Middle East. This blog includes a continuously updated list of open access journals in Middle Eastern studies.

Trove is a new discovery experience focused on Australia and Australians. Trove provides integrated access to millions of items from a range of the National Library’s collaborative services and from elsewhere. Metadata (information about items) is pooled from Australian sources including: The Australian National Bibliographic Database – containing location information from thousands of Australian libraries, The Picture Australia program, The Australian Research Online program, The Music Australia program, The Register of Australian Archives and Manuscripts, and The People Australia program, and some overseas sources.

The following resources are no longer available from the OCLC FirstSearch service.  We have moved PAIS to ProQuest and the other 4 to EBSCOhost.
