Just another blogs.baylor.edu site
So tomorrow Lokesh is going to teach a group of us Cricket. I’m not really sure what to expect with this experience but it should be interesting. Everyone has always said its really similar to baseball with different rules but I am not so sure. I mean, do I have to wear the outfit? (see left) I am hoping the answer to that is no but I am preparing myself.
We have been informed of a few things before embarking on this journey. 1) We will not play a full game, they can last like 4 hours so I am pretty thankful about that. 2) We are going to play with a tennis ball instead of a real cricket ball. This I am not too thankful about – I think it would be kind of cool to play a game fully equipped – but that would probably include the outfit. On second thought – I’m cool with the Tennis ball.
It wasn’t planned this way but to get us all in the baseball/cricket mood we have a GBA tailgate tonight for the baseball game. Locating a grill is a better thought than actuality so we’re bringing food from Raising Canes but it should be a fun time regardless. I haven’t been able to see a baseball game here yet but I know the team has been playing pretty well. Kind of goes along with the rest of the athletic program at Baylor.
Anyways, back to Cricket – I am definitely excited for this and if you asked me a year ago if I would ever attempt to play cricket I probably would have laughed at you. This is one of the coolest parts about having students from all over the world in the program – we can all share different things with each other. My main thing I am teaching people from up north is how to use the car horn when someone is driving like an idiot – not as cool as cricket but I would argue just as useful. The tailgate starts in about half an hour so I am heading out for that but hopefully I’ll be able to grab some pictures at Cricket tomorrow.
This site is very important to the cricket fans.It also gives latest cricketing information
