FNP Capstone 2009 Packing Day

Packing in the HallwayWow! How blessed are team is with items to share with the peopel we will serve in Africa. We are grateful the generous spirit of so many people. Our work in Ethiopia and Malawi will be enhanced by the kind and thoughtful donations.  We have been given an abundance of soaps and toothbrushes and toothpaste. We will have beautiful homemade blankets and colorful scarves to give as gifts. We will treat those with great need with vitamins and medicines and first aid supplies.

The team met on Saturday morning and sorted and packed the 10 ‘team’ bags. The team worked hard to eliminate packaging and reduce weight so we could maximize our luggage space. What a great hard working team.

Departure Day is rapidly approaching and we are almost ready.

Africa 2009 Team Dinner

Team members and their families gathered for a social dinner. Richard Spies cooked an amazing meal – stuffed pork tenderloin with roasted root vegetables. Thanks to Cassie and Julie for the appetizers and to Paige, Melanie and Claudia for dessert. It was great to see everyone and get to meet parents and spouses of team members. It was an evening of fellowship and good food. I’m glad to know we have a a strong home team that will keep us in prayer.

I am thrilled with the team and know God will bless all of our efforts in Ethiopia and Malawi.

Thank you everyone for the wonderful evening.
