Circle Line Southbound for Private Transportation

I have never been so thankful for my 2010 Silver Jeep Liberty than now.

I was on the underground a couple of days ago and it happened. The dreaded moment when I realized it: I hate public transportation. When I first arrived in London it was exciting and new to use the underground and double decker red buses to move bout from site to site. However now my eyes have been opened to the downfalls of public transportation.

First of all, it is hot and crowded and loud in the underground. The screeching noises of rail scraping rail can take a toll on delicate ears.

Another frustration is that the underground takes about thirty minutes longer to get anywhere than it would take to just drive.  Earlier this week a friend and I opted to split a taxi because we did not want to make the trek to the tube stop and spend 30 minutes hopping form tube to tube to make our way to our Resident Hall. The taxi ride took us about five minutes while the trip would normally take 30 minutes. Not to mention the stop closest to my Resident hall is a ten-minute hike. By the end of the day when you are exhausted the hike feels like a marathon. On the underground people do not really talk much either; everyone seems to be in equally a bad mood.

Overall I have gathered a new appreciation for private transportation. It has no unnecessary stops, it has music, and it has air conditioning.
