Hey Dr. Mo! We are trying to find applications for mobile learning as well. There are currently three compelling applications of it for us:

    1) For stores that are too small to accommodate a formal training space, mobile allows us to deliver any type of training, even integrated with classroom via mobile. Maximizes the use of store square footage, which leads to increased sales and decreased costs.
    2) For OJT procedures and processes. Learners can bring the mobile device with them as they perform the procedure or walk through the process to have a trainer by their side. They can also access concept or principle training right there if they need it.
    3) For learners who travel. We have a lot of office-based managers who don’t invest the time in training while they are at the office because of the demands of the job. But while they are traveling for work, they are somewhat of a captive audience, since they lack the connectivity that distracts them from training during their regular day-to-day routines. Mobile learning content could be downloaded to their mobile devices and they could go through it while on a plane, in a taxi, waiting in a lobby, etc.

Just some things we are investigating now. Will be interesting to see what applications for the technology emerge in the coming years!
