This hike was definitely different than the other ones in the sense that I felt like I was not really hiking because most of the walking occurred in the city of Abingdon, or surrounding areas. I had a lot of fun on the hike, and my conversations with people were different than the ones I had in Windermere as well. I talked more about traveling or city life on this hike with Taylor and some other people versus admiring the fuzzy moss or misty atmosphere that was in Windermere. I did pay attention to the Thames River when we walked alongside it for a while, but my attention to the nature was not quite as strong as it was in the Lake District. I was more concerned about being with people and spending time socializing during the hike. This was not a conscious choice, but rather I feel like it just happened this way because there was much more hustle and bustle around me so I couldn’t really relax like I was able to atop the rocky hills of the Lake District during the previous hikes. Consequently, the only photos I took during the hike are of people. I think that these photos reflect the easygoing attitude and fun atmosphere that I experienced during the hike. I enjoyed not having to wear a raincoat or my actual hiking shoes since the terrain was mostly city/grass and the weather was warm, so that probably contributed to my light-hearted feelings towards the hike. To me, it was more of just a walk since there was no real inclines or uneven terrain to challenge me, but I still enjoyed it nonetheless!
