my experiences in the medical field and how they have shaped my leadership philosophy.

to be a doctor you must pledge to do no harm, to act in the best interest of the patient, and to educate the patient about the risk and benefits of surgery. this means being an authentic/trustworthy leader. as a physician, you determine the fate of your patient. you take calculated risk and hope for the best. from my experience, the most authentic relationship is between a patient and his or her physician. there is a mutual trust. the patient trust the doctor to perform the surgery to the best of his or her ability and the physician trusts the patient to fight their hardest to stay alive.
